Blood Sugar Level after Meal and Insulin Level
The study was conducted on 18 people between the age of 20 to 70 years old, both male and female who drank 118g of koji amazake or 118g of placebo and had their insulin levels measured two hours after drinking. As a result, it was proven that koji amazake reduces the increase in blood sugar insulin levels compared to a placebo. The study made clear that koji amazake contains components help to maintain blood sugar and insulin levels.
Safety Test of Overconsumption and Long-Term Consumption
One group of subjects consumed 3 bottles of koji amazake （118g in a bottle） a day for 4 weeks, and another group consumed 1 bottle per day for 12 weeks. No problem was reported on weight change, body fat percentage, BMI, blood sugar level replaced carbohydrate metabolism, glycoalbumin, or HbA1c. The study showed that it is safe to consume 118g of koji amazake every day.
