2013 got off to a great start with some great Hakkaisan sake! Our first Hakkaisan Restaurant week of the new year was held at Yakitori haven Tori Shin and New York’s newest sake bar Shigure. Our Restaurant week is a special time each month that you can enjoy delicious food with Hakkaisan Sake at a special price. A great reason to get out there and start sipping! Let’s take a peek at the fun we had in January.Tori Shin is well known in New York as a hot spot for authentic Japanese Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). From the tame to the exotic, there is a skewer for everyone.
Tori Shin offered a special Hakkaisan tasting set last month. This was a flight of Hakkaisan Honjozo, Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai and Hakkaisan Junmai Ginjo. This trio of sake pairs well with Yakitori and trying the different kinds of Hakkaisan with the different skewers is half the fun.Shigure is a new sake bar down in Tribeca. It has a sleek and relaxed vibe which simply puts you in the mood for wanting to try sake. Shigure has added Hakkaisan Honjozo to their regular Happy Hour menu which started with January’s Hakkaisan Restaurant week. Hakkaisan Honjozo, with it’s clean taste and silky body pairs well with many dishes on Shigure’s Small Plates menu. Managers Takahiro Okada and Jiro Yamada can guide you to the dishes that pair well. I recommend the pork belly or grilled black cod. Stop by Shigure for what will be a very Happy Hour with Hakkaisan Honjozo!
Do you want to get in on the fun? You’re in luck! Hakkaisan Restaurant Week will be happening again in February! You can take advantage of some great deals on Hakkaisan Sake. Please Join us at Decibel and Family Recipe from Feb 18th to the 24th for some Hakkaisan magic. See you there!
